Sourcing
We base our reporting on peer-reviewed research, official statistics, regulatory documents and statements from named institutions or experts. We link to primary sources in the body of each article. We do not publish claims we cannot trace to a verifiable source.
Accuracy and corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it. Substantive corrections are made directly in the article as soon as an error is identified. Readers can report errors via our contact page.
Health and science claims
We distinguish clearly between established scientific consensus, emerging evidence and speculation. Health articles state the regulatory status of tests and treatments (including whether they are approved in Canada), describe the limits of the evidence, and always include a reminder that our content is not medical advice.
Independence
Our editorial choices are made independently. We do not accept payment for coverage, and any sponsored or partner content would be labelled as such.
Updates to older articles
Science moves. We periodically review and update older articles to reflect new findings, and we remove or consolidate content that no longer meets our standards.
